Ask the parents before the party

Press Print this list and make a copy for every guest and one for you. Read your copy to the parents-to-be and ask which of them each line sounds like. Write H or S in its box: that copy is the answer key. Cross out any line neither claims.

Play it at the shower

Guests write H for he or S for she in every box. Read the answers from your key, and each right guess is a point. The lines run from the day they found out to promises: the box under the button keeps one group, and Pick 20 new lines, under the list, deals another set.

Tips
  • Ask the parents apart, so each claims lines without hearing the other.
  • Read each answer in the voice of the parent who said it.

Questions and answers

How does the who said it baby shower game work?

It is the same game. Guests read a line and guess who said it, the mom-to-be or the dad-to-be. The host collects the real answers from the parents beforehand and reads them out at the end.

Do the parents have to have said these exact lines?

No. Each line is written so that either parent could have said it. Before the party the host asks which of them it sounds like, and that answer goes on the key.

Can guests write Mom and Dad in place of He and She?

Yes, as letters: M and D, or each parent's first initial. The box holds one letter, and the printed rule says H and S, so tell the room which two letters to write.

Is the sheet free to print?

Yes. Print this list prints the lines with the rules above them and an empty box beside each. Nothing is typed into the page and there is no sign-up.

How this list was compiled: Written by the Game Night Generator editors on 2026-10-02: 80 first-person lines in 4 groups of 20, each something a parent-to-be might say and each written so that either parent could have said it. Own work; the lines are invented, quote nobody and state no fact, and nothing was copied from another site. The answers come from the parents the host asks. Screen: nothing about a body, the birth, money or how the parents met. Each line was compared by script with every other list on this site and none repeats one. Licence: own work
