Trivia Questions for Baby Shower Guests, Every Answer Sourced: how it works

The gifts are open and the cake is cut. Read the card to the room, tap the choice the guests shout loudest, then press Check answer for the right one and the reason. These 100 trivia questions for baby shower games cover newborn facts, baby animals, animal parents, nursery rhymes and customs from Korea to Finland.

Run it as a shower game

Split the guests by table and choose a Topic, or leave all five on. One person reads, each table calls an answer, and the host taps a choice and presses Check answer. The card gives the answer, the reason and a link to the page it was checked on. For a scored game, Exam mode asks 20 questions and totals them by topic.

What the five topics ask

Tips

  • At a co-ed shower, open with Mom or dad? Animal parents. The seahorse, the emu and the emperor penguin give the dads something to boast about.

Questions and answers

Are the newborn facts medical advice?

No, they are trivia. Each restates a sentence from an American Academy of Pediatrics parent page or a CDC milestone checklist, linked under the answer, and none tells a parent what to do. Babies differ, so take questions about your own baby to your pediatrician.

Is there a round about the parents-to-be?

Not in this pack, where every question has one true answer. Mom or dad? is about animal parents, such as the seahorse father and his brood pouch. For guessing games about the couple, open the baby shower question game, where the parents-to-be supply the answers.

How were the answers checked?

On September 19, 2026 an editor read the sentence that states each fact on the page linked under it: HealthyChildren.org from the American Academy of Pediatrics, CDC milestone checklists, and Wikipedia for animals, rhymes and customs. Rhyme lines follow the common modern version each article prints. Levels: 24 easy, 49 medium, 27 hard.

How this list was compiled: Written for this site by the editors; nothing was copied from another list. Every question, wrong choice and explanation is our own wording. Each answer was checked on 2026-09-19 against the page named and linked beside the question, by reading the sentence that states the fact; every extra claim in an explanation was checked the same way. Newborn and first-year facts come from the American Academy of Pediatrics' parent pages at HealthyChildren.org (https://www.healthychildren.org) and from the CDC's developmental milestone checklists (https://www.cdc.gov/act-early/milestones/), with one question on Virginia Apgar from English Wikipedia. The CDC site refused our direct requests, so its five milestone pages (2, 4, 6 and 9 months and 1 year) were read twice through a page-reading tool on 2026-09-19 and the checklist wording was copied from those reads; milestone questions quote that wording and ask which checklist it is on. These are trivia questions, not advice: nothing here tells a parent what to do, and no question covers feeding choices, sleep safety, illness or anything a family should take to its own pediatrician. Animal, nursery rhyme and custom questions were checked against English Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org). Rhyme lines follow the version the article prints as the common modern one, since old rhymes have many wordings. Left out on purpose: records and rankings that change, living people, brand names, and anything sad or clinical, because this pack is read aloud at a party. Levels are an editor's judgment for a room of mixed ages: easy is common knowledge, hard is for the guest who reads the footnotes. Licence: own work
