Hearts Score Sheet That Checks Every Hand Against 26: how it works

This hearts score sheet gives each hand a line and each player a column. Type what everyone took and the sheet adds the line across the table. It should come to 26: 13 hearts at a point each, plus 13 for the queen of spades. Running totals climb toward 100, and the lowest score wins.

Fill in one line per hand

The Four players to 100 sheet prints the pass on every line: left, right, across, then no pass. After the last trick each player counts hearts, adds 13 for the queen and types the sum. Three, five or six players use the second sheet and Add a player. A number no hand can produce, such as 27, is flagged but kept.

Shooting the moon and the 26 check

Take all 13 hearts and the queen and you have shot the moon. Type 0 for the shooter and 26 for everyone else, or minus 26 for the shooter and 0 for the rest. The sheet accepts a line that adds to 26, to 26 for each other player, or to minus 26, and marks the rest. Unless a moon is subtracted, four players cannot pass 16 hands: 15 hands deal out 390 points, and four totals under 100 hold at most 396.

Tips

  • Omnibus players use the third sheet: the jack of diamonds takes 10 off its winner, so a plain hand adds to 16.
  • Check for 100 only after a hand ends. If the low totals tie, play another hand.
  • Print blank sheet puts the grid and the scoring key on Letter or A4.

Questions and answers

How many points is the queen of spades worth in hearts?

13, as much as every heart together, so a hand adds to 26. In spot hearts she counts 25 and each heart its face value, with the jack 11, queen 12, king 13 and ace 14. That hand adds to 129, which the Spot hearts to 500 sheet checks.

Does shooting the moon always add 26 to everyone else?

No. pagat.com lists tables where the shooter chooses, where 26 always comes off the shooter, and where the others always add 26. One variant adds 26 to the others unless that would make one of them win, and then the shooter subtracts.

How do you score hearts with three or five players?

The same way: no penalty card leaves the pack, so a hand still adds to 26. Only the deal changes, and sources differ. pagat.com deals 17 each to three players or 10 each to five, and the spare cards go to the winner of the first trick. Wikipedia removes the 2 of clubs for three, plus the 2 of diamonds for five.

Classic hearts to 100 2

A moon still needs all 13 hearts and the queen, and the 10 comes off whoever holds the jack, shooter or not.
  • Omnibus total, lowest wins once someone has 100 Every omnibus hand added together. A total can sit below zero for a player who keeps catching the jack.

Spot hearts 2

  • Spot hearts hand, hearts at face value Add the pips of the hearts you took: 2 to 10 as printed, jack 11, queen 12, king 13, ace 14. The queen of spades adds 25. A hand comes to 129 across the table. The box flags 1 and 128, the only totals up to 129 that no set of these cards can make.
  • Spot hearts total, lowest wins at 500 Every spot hearts hand added together. Scores climb about five times as fast as in the classic game, so the target is higher: 500 is the figure pagat.com suggests.
