How it works
A hink pink is a riddle answered by two rhyming words of one syllable each: an overweight kitty is a fat cat. These hink pink riddles keep their answers under a cover, and two longer kinds sit beside them.

Hink pinks, hinky pinky riddles and hinkity pinkities
The name gives the syllables. A hink pink has one in each word (wet pet), a hinky pinky two (funny bunny), a hinkity pinkity three (banana bandana). Every riddle starts with its name, so the count is always in sight. The menu under the button keeps one kind.
How to play
Read the clue aloud. The first word of the answer describes the second, and the two rhyme. Tap Show answer to check. Choose More filters in the menu for Level: Easy pairs are two everyday words, Medium pairs hold a rarer one.
Tips
- A guess that rhymes and fits the clue counts, even when it is not the pair under the cover.
- After five riddles, have each player write a clue for a pair of their own.
Questions and answers
What is a hink pink?
A word riddle whose answer is a pair of rhyming one-syllable words, most often a describing word and a thing. The clue says the same in plainer words: a chilly place to swim is a cool pool.
What is the difference between a hink pink and a hinky pinky?
The number of syllables. A hink pink rhymes two one-syllable words, a hinky pinky two two-syllable words, such as lizard wizard, and a hinkity pinkity two three-syllable words, such as vanilla gorilla.
What are some hink pink examples?
A bashful insect: shy fly. A crimson bunk: red bed. A sugary reward: sweet treat. A happy boy: glad lad. An insect's embrace: bug hug. The Easy level holds the pairs made of two everyday words.
Do the two words have to rhyme exactly?
On this page, yes. Every pair was checked against a pronouncing dictionary: both words have the number of syllables the name promises and the same sounds from the stressed vowel to the end.
