Scoring key

Each die that matches the round number 1
Roll for 1s in round 1, 2s in round 2 and so on up to 6s. The three dice are read one at a time and never added together.
All three dice show the round number 21
Worth 21 points. In the usual party rules you call it out to claim them, and only the roller marks it on a card.
Three of a kind of any other number 5
Three matching dice that are not the round number score 5.
A win or a loss for every round 1 or 0
Both players on the team with more points mark a win for the round and both players on the other team mark a loss. On a paper card that is a W or an L. On this sheet it is a 1 or a 0.
Partners sit opposite and change each round
The player across the table is your partner for that round only. When a pair stays at the same table, one of them moves over a chair so both get a new partner.
Moving tables: winners go up
The winning team moves to the next table up and the head table winners stay put. House rules differ on the head table losers: in some groups they drop one table, in others they go to the lowest table.
One game is six rounds 6
A party usually plays several games back to back. Four is typical and anything from two to six is common.
Twelve players at three tables of four 12
The usual party size. Any number that splits into tables of four works the same way.
What groups give prizes for
Most 21s, most wins and most losses are common, which is why the card counts all three. Some groups add most 5s and the last 21 of the night.

How it works

This dice party game score sheet is for the three-dice game of six rounds at tables of four, sold as Bunco; its makers have no tie to this page. It counts wins and losses and tallies table points.

Fill in a player card

The card opens with four columns; Add a player takes it to twelve. After each round, type 1 in the first box if that player's team won, or 0 if it lost. The 21s and 5s boxes count that player's own three-of-a-kind rolls and can stay empty. Rows under round 6 add up wins, losses, 21s and 5s.

Keep the table tally

Open Head table tally: first team to 21 or Other tables: tally until the bell. After each turn, type what that player scored: 1 for each die matching the round number, 5 for three of any other number, 21 for three of the round number. New game clears the tally before the next round and leaves the player cards alone.

  • Print blank sheet prints the card with a column for each of 12 players and the scoring key, on one page of Letter or A4.
  • More than one game tonight? Print a blank card for each game, or press New game on the card between games: it keeps the names.
  • Prizes often go to most 21s, most wins and most losses, so check all three rows.

Questions and answers

How many points is three of a kind?

Three dice all showing the number of the round score 21. Three of a kind of any other number scores 5. Otherwise each die that matches the round number scores 1. Any roll that scores earns another roll.

When does a round end?

When a team at the head table reaches 21 points and rings the bell. The other tables play until then, and the team with more points at each table wins the round. Groups differ on whether players in mid-turn finish rolling or stop.

Where do players move after a round?

Winners move up a table and the head table winners stay. House rules differ for the head table losers: some groups send them down one table, others to the lowest. When a pair stays, one moves over a chair so everyone gets a new partner.

  • Head table: the round ends at 21 When a team at the head table has 21 points or more, that table rings the bell and the round is over. Some groups let players in mid-turn finish rolling and others stop everyone at the bell, so agree which before round 1.
  • Keep rolling for as long as you score A roll that scores anything earns another roll. A roll that scores nothing ends the turn and the dice pass to the next player.

How this list was compiled: Written by the editors. The game is a traditional dice game with no governing rule book, so the sheet prints the commonest values and the key says where house rules differ. Six rounds a game, 1 point per die matching the round number, 5 for three of a kind of another number, 21 for three of the round number, rolling again after any score, the most rounds won deciding the game, the head table and the move to the lowest table for its losers were checked on 2026-10-03 against the English Wikipedia article on the game. Twelve players at three tables of four, partners sitting opposite, the round ending when a head table team has at least 21, the bell, the higher total winning at each table, the W or L and the tally of 21 rolls on each player's own card, the table tally kept by one scorekeeper, four games as a typical session (two to six) and the common prize categories were checked the same day against the rules page for the game at dicegamedepot.com.
