Questions and answers
What is the difference between identical and fraternal twins?
Identical twins come from a single fertilized egg that splits into two. Fraternal twins come from two separate eggs fertilized by two different sperm, and share half their genomes, like any other siblings.
Do identical twins have the same fingerprints?
No. Even identical twins, who have the same DNA, have different fingerprints, because in the womb each one touches different parts of its surroundings. The question is in The science in plain words.
What is the twin festival in Ohio?
Twins Days, held on the first full weekend in August in Twinsburg, Ohio, every summer since 1976. The town took its name at the wish of the identical twins Moses and Aaron Wilcox.
Which animals usually have twins?
Goats, for one: twins are the usual result of a birth. Marmosets commonly have nonidentical twins, a golden lion tamarin usually gives birth to twins, and giant pandas have twins in about half of pregnancies.

How this list was compiled
Written for this site; nothing was copied from another list. Every question, wrong choice and explanation is our own wording. Each answer agrees with a sentence in the page named and linked beside the question, read on 2026-10-02; every extra claim in an explanation was read on the same page. The definitions of identical and fraternal twins follow the glossary of the National Human Genome Research Institute (https://www.genome.gov) and MedlinePlus Genetics of the National Library of Medicine (https://medlineplus.gov); three animal questions follow the Smithsonian's National Zoo (https://nationalzoo.si.edu); the other questions cite the English Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org) or the Wiktionary entry (https://en.wiktionary.org) the sentence was read in. Every question is about twins, pairs or litters. Left out on purpose: pregnancy and medical advice, birth statistics and twinning rates, which change, living people, and brand, team and show names. Twins of scripture and myth are asked plainly, by name and family. Facts the site's baby shower, anatomy, birthday and math packs already ask (that identical twins come from one egg and have different fingerprints, the four identical young of the nine-banded armadillo, that marmosets and tamarins regularly have twins, which pair the constellation shows, who founded Rome, which twin was born first, what the name Thomas means, what makes a pair of twin primes) were left out or asked from another side, so no question here repeats one of theirs word for word as they stood on 2026-10-02. Levels are our estimate for a mixed table of adults and older children; each round is stored easiest first. Licence: own work
