How it works

In the guess the baby picture game, everyone lends a baby photo, the host numbers them on a board, and players write a name beside each number. This page prints the guess sheet, the host's key and rules for four settings.

Baby picture guessing game at work

At work: the team's baby photos prints rules for a board that stays up all week. It turns into a guess the baby picture contest with a second prize for the baby who fooled the most people.

Virtual guess the baby picture game

Video call: one photo a screen has ten lines. Photos go to the host first, who shows them one by one on a shared screen.

Tips
  • For a big board, pick 12 photos with a name bank: the host writes every name under the lines.

Questions and answers

How do you play the guess the baby photo game?

Each person lends a baby photo. The host numbers the photos and keeps the names secret. Players write a name beside every number, the host reads the key, and the most right names wins.

Is the baby photo guessing game only for baby showers?

No. The Sheet list has rules for a baby shower, an office and a class reunion, and a version for a video call. The guess sheet is the same; the rules under it change.

How do I run a guess the baby picture game for work?

Make it voluntary, give people a week to send a photo, and pin the board where everyone passes. Leave sheets beside it, read the key at the end of the week and return every photo.

How many photos do you need?

The sheets hold 8, 12 or 20, and the page opens on 12. Those sizes are our own choice: the game has no official rules. For a bigger group, print two sheets and split the board.

All 25 lines

The guest answer sheet 2

  • Babies named right Each player counts their right names once the key has been read and writes the total here.
  • Who is the baby in photo number One line a photo, in the order of the numbers on the board. A first name is enough.

The host's key 5

  • Collecting the photos Ask a week ahead for one photo each, taken before the age of two. Taking part is each person's choice.
  • Fill this in as photos arrive A name beside every number. The host reads from this sheet at the reveal.
  • The grown-up in photo number The host writes a name beside each photo number as the photos come in.
  • Hide the clues Cover names and dates written on the photos, and mix the order on the board.
  • Photos go home Pin up copies, or slip prints into sleeves, and hand every original back at the end.

Rules for a shower, an office and a class reunion 7

  • At a shower: before the gifts Set the board by the door, and let guests fill in the sheet before the gifts are opened.
  • At a shower: whose photos Every guest brings a baby photo of themselves. The parents-to-be go up too, as photos 1 and 2.
  • At work: a board for the week Pin the board in the break room on Monday, leave the sheets beside it, and read the key on Friday.
  • At work: make it a contest The most right names wins. A second prize goes to the baby who fooled the most people.
  • At work: only those who sent a photo Nobody has to take part. The board holds the people who chose to send a photo, and the host lists them for everyone.
  • Class reunion: add the yearbook A school picture pinned under each baby photo makes a second, easier round on the same sheet.
  • Class reunion: name tags stay on Classmates who have not met in years match the faces in the room to the board.

A version for a video call 4

  • Video call: a slide for each photo The host shares the screen and shows each numbered photo in turn, then the whole set once more.
  • Video call: guess on paper Players write a name beside each number and keep their answers out of the chat until the last photo.
  • Video call: photos go to the host first Each person sends one photo before the call. The host puts one on each slide and numbers the slides.
  • Video call: wave when it is you The host goes back through the slides, and each person waves when their own photo comes up.

How this list was compiled: Written by the Game Night Generator editors on 2026-10-03. The baby picture guessing game is a folk game with no governing body and no standard sheet, so the nine layouts, the sizes (8, 12 or 20 photos, 10 on a video call) and the scoring (one point a baby, a photo kept back for a tie) are the editors' own suggestions, and the page says so. No fact is stated. The photos and names are the host's and stay on paper: no picture is uploaded to this page and nothing typed into it is sent anywhere. The rules say that taking part is each person's choice and that every photo goes back to its owner. Licence: own work
