Write questions on the panels of a beach ball and toss it. Whoever catches it answers the one under their right thumb. These 120 beach ball icebreaker questions are eight words or fewer, so each fits a panel in marker.

Pick a Topic: All ages, Teens and adults, Work team or Funny. Press Copy the list for that set, or Print cards for slips to cut apart. Write the questions on the panels in permanent marker, or tape the slips on. Plan two to five a panel: a six-panel ball takes 12 to 30.
How to play with beach ball game questions
Stand in a circle and toss the ball. The catcher reads the question under their right thumb aloud, answers it, and tosses to someone who has not had a turn. Anyone may pass and take the other thumb's question. No marker? The catcher answers the card on this page, and the host presses Next card.

Questions and answers
What questions do you write on a beach ball?
Short, open ones that anyone can answer in front of the group: eight words or fewer, no right answer, nothing private. "What would you name a pet octopus?" suits any age. "Which office supply do you hoard?" suits a team.
Do beachball questions work for a staff meeting?
Yes. The Work team set holds 32 beach ball ice breaker questions a manager can hear, such as "What is your job in five words?" Nothing asks about bodies, love lives, health or money, and nothing involves drinking.
Can you play without writing on the ball?
Yes. Play from the screen with Next card, or write only numbers on the panels and look each one up in the number question game, which keeps 100 questions on one fixed numbered list.
Are these beach ball activity questions safe for a classroom?
The All ages set is written for mixed groups of children and adults. No question asks for a pet's name, a first school or a street, because those answers double as account security answers.
Written by the Game Night Generator editors on 2026-09-19; every question is our own wording and no list was copied from anywhere. All 120 questions are eight words or fewer, so each one fits on one panel of an inflatable beach ball in marker and can be read at a glance by whoever catches it: 48 for all ages, 40 for teens and adults and 32 for a work team, with 45 of them also tagged Funny. Word counts were checked by script on 2026-09-20. Every question is open, has no right answer and can be answered in front of a mixed group. Nothing asks about a player's body, love life, health or money, nothing involves drinking, and the work set has nothing a manager could not hear. No question asks for the name of a pet, a first school, a street or a first job, because those answers double as account security answers. There are no facts in this list to check. The game itself is a common camp, classroom and training-room icebreaker; rules vary from group to group, and the thumb rule and the pass rule on the page are the usual ones as we play them, not an official rule set. Levels are ours and go by how long the answer takes: easy is answered in a word or two, medium takes a sentence, and hard asks for a short story. Licence: own work
