The number question game runs on one shared list: a friend sends a number without seeing the questions, then answers whatever sits beside it. This list holds 100 clean questions, numbered 01 to 100 and printed in full below, and they get deeper as the numbers climb.
How to play by text, in a post or at a table
By text, ask a friend for a number from 1 to 100, find it in the list printed under the tool and send back the question. In a post, invite numbers and answer each one. At a table, one player holds the phone and the others call numbers. With no numbers coming in, press Next card and the deck picks one; No repeats tonight keeps it from picking a number twice.
What the five bands of twenty hold
Cards 01 to 20 are quick picks: what goes on your half of the pizza. 21 to 40 are habits and opinions, 41 to 60 memories, and 61 to 80 what-ifs: if you ran a food truck, what is the one thing on the menu. 81 to 100 go deeper: what are you still working up the nerve to do. Tap one band and Next card deals only from it. Easy takes a word, Medium a sentence, Hard a moment to think.
Tips
Send the range with the invitation. A numbered question game stalls when a friend picks 250 from a list that stops at 100.
Low question game numbers are quick and high ones take nerve: under 40 for a new friend, over 80 for an old one.
Posting answers in public? No card asks for a first car, a street, a school or a family name, the answers accounts use as security questions.
Questions and answers
Is this the same as the numbers question game?
Yes. That name, the number questions game and the numbers questions game are three spellings of one idea: a numbered list, a number chosen blind and an honest answer. Lists differ from friend to friend. This page keeps one fixed list, so 37 is always the same question.
Can we play a shorter game with 24 or 40 numbers?
Yes. A 24 questions game uses cards 01 to 24, nearly all quick picks, good for someone you just met. A 40 questions game adds habits and opinions. Keep 81 to 100 for friends who know each other well.
Who answers, the picker or the player with the list?
Either, and rules vary, so agree before the first number. In one version the picker answers: they send 52, you send back question 52 and they reply. In another the player who shared the list answers every number that comes in.

How this list was compiled: Written by the Game Night Generator editors on 2026-09-18; every question is our own wording and no list was copied from anywhere. The deck is one fixed list of 100 questions, numbered 01 to 100 in the text of each card, so that a number a friend sends always lands on the same question. Numbers under ten carry a leading zero so that the printed list, which is sorted by its text, stays in counting order. The five groups are bands of twenty that get deeper as the numbers climb: quick picks, habits and opinions, memories, what-ifs, then deeper questions. Levels are ours and describe the length of the answer: easy cards take a word or a quick pick, medium cards take a sentence or a short story, hard cards need a moment to think. Every question was screened line by line: nothing sexual, no alcohol or drugs, no self-harm, nothing illegal, and nothing about a player's body, love life, money or background. Because lists like this one are often answered in public posts, no card asks for the kind of answer that accounts use as a security question: no first car, street, school name, birthplace, family names, pet names or childhood nickname.
