Music Bingo Printable: Six Decades of Song Cards: how it works

This music bingo printable deals cards of song titles in place of numbers: 300 songs, 50 for each decade from the 1960s to the 2010s, with the artist beside every title in the list below. You play the music from your own streaming account, because the page hosts and links no audio. Cut the list to one decade before you print.

One decade makes one round

The page opens with four cards dealt from all 300 songs. In our simulated games that took ten players about 98 songs to a first line, too long for a party. In Word list, one per line the songs run in decade order, 50 lines each, and the decades start at Ain't No Mountain High Enough, ABC, 9 to 5, Achy Breaky Heart, Bad Day and 7 Years. Delete every decade but one and deal a new set: ten players then had a winner after about 18 songs, thirty after about 14.

Calling a round with your own music

Set How many cards, print, then switch to Call the game. Each press of Call the next one picks a song at random and never repeats one. Find it in your streaming account, play 20 to 30 seconds and say nothing: players who know the song mark its title. Keep the caller on your phone: a shared screen names the song before the music does.

Tips

  • Preview every song and choose the radio edit. Songs about drinking and songs with explicit standard versions were left out, but only you know your room.
  • As a music bingo template for your own crowd, cut the list to one decade, then type your songs on new lines: the first dance, the school song.
  • A one-decade list fits in the Share these cards link, so guests can open the same set on a phone. Give each guest a card number.

Questions and answers

Can I run music bingo at a bar or a hall?

The page hosts no audio, so the music is yours to supply. Under U.S. copyright law, music played in a place open to the public is a public performance that needs permission. Ask the venue whether its music license covers the night.

How many music bingo sheets can I print?

Up to 60 cards in one set, no two alike. They print two to a page, so 30 sheets cover 60 players. Choose 1 under Cards per printed page for larger type.

How long does a round take?

At 30 seconds a song, 18 songs is nine minutes of music, plus the time to find each one. Blackout on one decade ran to about 47 of its 50 songs, so save it for the last round.

How this list was compiled: Own selection by the editors: 300 well-known songs, 50 for each decade from the 1960s to the 2010s, as plain titles with the artist beside them. No lyrics, no cover art and no audio are on this page, and the list is not a chart: it is ordered A to Z inside each decade and leaves out most charting songs. Every title and artist was checked twice on 2026-09-19. First against Wikipedia's 60 pages 'Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1960' to 'of 2019' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1960 through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_2019, the year at the end of the address changes): a song sits in a decade only if it appears on a year-end list of that decade with that artist, and no song is listed before its decade. A song whose own article dates this recording's release to the decade before was left out. Eight songs also appear on a later decade's list and stay with the decade of their release: 'Stand by Me' (1961, again in 1987), 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (1976, again in 1992), 'Love Shack' (1989 and 1990), 'Smooth' (1999 and 2000), and 'You Belong with Me', 'Party in the U.S.A.', 'Fireflies' and 'I Gotta Feeling' (2009 and 2010). Second against the song's own Wikipedia article, for the spelling of the title and the performer. Where the two differ the square follows the article: the 1982 list prints 'I Love Rock 'n Roll', the 1996 list prints both 'Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)' and 'Macarena', and the 1971 list pairs 'It's Too Late' and 'My Sweet Lord' each with the other side of its single. Artist credits follow the year-end lists, with three tidied to the spelling of the artist's own article (Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, The Black Eyed Peas, Outkast) and one expanded: the 1982 list credits 'Jack & Diane' to John Cougar, the name John Mellencamp then performed under. Well-known songs that could not be matched to a year-end list this way were left out, among them several with a famous title and no year-end entry under it. Songs whose main subject is drinking, drugs or sex were left out, and so were songs the editors knew to carry explicit language in their standard release. That is the editors' judgment and not a rating, so a host should preview every song and choose the radio edit. Game lengths quoted on the page are medians from the editors' simulation of 4,000 random games per case (first straight line wins, free center on the 5 x 5 card, seed fixed), run on 2026-09-19. Song titles belong to their owners and appear here only as things to listen for. Licence: own work
