A region, not a country

The name and who is counted asks who coined the term and why Belize is left out. Land, wildlife and famous places goes from the Great American Interchange to the Nazca Lines. Languages from Nahuatl to Welsh has Guaraní, Garifuna and the Japanese of four countries. Painters, poets and dance covers muralism, Rubén Darío and Carlos Gardel.

How this list was compiled

Written for this site; nothing was copied from another list. Every answer was read on October 3, 2026 in the English Wikipedia article Latin America (text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license), which is linked beside each question; the questions, wrong choices and explanations are in our own words. Left out on purpose: population figures and ranks, visitor counts, inequality and poverty figures, current office-holders and living people, the politics of recent decades, record sales, sports, companies, religion as a round of its own, and titles of books and songs still in copyright. Facts that the country packs of this site ask (Brazil, Mexico, Haiti, Costa Rica, Guatemala) are left to those packs. Levels are our estimate: easy is fair for any table, medium suits people who know the region, hard will stump most tables. Licence: own work
