How it works
These fill in the blank icebreaker questions are sentence starters: each card is one sentence with a blank, and each person finishes it in a few words. Say the endings aloud, or write them down and guess who wrote which.

Out loud, round the circle
Read the card and go round: everyone finishes the same sentence. "I own too many ___." Then press Next card. Press Set for About me, This week, Favorites, If I could or This group.
On slips, guessing the author
Read one starter, have everyone write an ending on a slip and fold it. Mix the slips, read each one out and let the room guess who wrote it. This group is the set for a team that already knows each other.
Tips
- Go first yourself, and keep your ending to five words: the room will copy the length you set.
Questions and answers
What is a fill in the blank icebreaker?
A sentence with a gap that each person completes, such as My handwriting looks like ___. It is quicker than a question because half the answer is already written, and short endings are easy to compare round a room.
How do you play the guess-who version?
Everyone writes an ending to the same starter on a slip of paper, with no name. The host reads the slips one at a time and the group guesses the writer. It is one way to play; a round of the circle works too.
Is this the story game with blanks?
No. That game collects nouns and verbs and drops them into a story. Here each card is one sentence about the person finishing it, and the fun is in working out whose ending is whose.
