What is the difference between Eastern and Lexington barbecue?

Eastern North Carolina barbecue cooks the whole hog and uses a vinegar-and-red-pepper sauce. Western, or Lexington, barbecue uses only the pork shoulder and a tomato-based sauce.

What was North Carolina's first town?

Bath, laid out on the Pamlico River in 1705. It was also the first provincial capital, followed by Edenton in 1722 and New Bern in 1766.
