What is Kentucky Bend?

A small piece of Kentucky at the far west corner, cut off from the rest of the state and surrounded by Missouri and Tennessee. It is the result of a surveying error, and the road to it runs through Tennessee.

When did Kentucky become a state?

On June 1, 1792, as the fifteenth state. It had been part of Virginia, and Isaac Shelby was elected its first governor.
