Early colonies trivia questions and answers, by region

The three regional rounds ask charters and dates that a state pack skips: Carolina chartered in 1629 and not settled until 1670, the four settlements joined as Rhode Island, the two Jerseys cut from New York. The last round runs from King George's War to the First Continental Congress.

Questions and answers

What are three easy 13 colonies trivia questions to start with?

Which grouping did New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware form? How did more than nine in ten colonists make their living? Near which bay was Jamestown established? The answers are the Middle Colonies, as farmers and Chesapeake Bay.

Are Jamestown, the Mayflower and William Penn in the pack?

Only from a less usual side. The American history and state packs of the site already ask the founders, so this one asks the bay near Jamestown, where the Pilgrims lived first, and the charters and treaties.

How do I know the answers are right?

The answers were read on October 3, 2026 in the English Wikipedia article Thirteen Colonies, linked from every question. Population counts are left out, and so are slavery and the wars with Native peoples, which a quiz card cannot treat with care.
