Trivia Questions for Kindergarten to Read Aloud: how it works
Your five-year-old cannot read the card, so you do the reading. Say the question and both choices, tap the one your child picks, then press Check answer. These 100 trivia questions for kindergarten need no pictures. They cover colors, shapes, animal sounds, counting to 20, days and months, letters, the body and weather.
How a round works with a non-reader
Each question has only two choices, so a child can answer by pointing, shouting or hopping to one side of the rug. Tap the choice they pick, then press Check answer. The card shows the right one with a reason short enough to say aloud. A miss waits in Missed until your child gets it right. Next question moves on. Five to ten questions is plenty for one sitting.

Each names the kindergarten Common Core math standard it practices, such as counting on from a number or finding what makes 10. Animal sounds has 14 and needs no reading at all.

Put out blocks for counting questions. The kindergarten standards name objects, fingers, drawings and claps as ways to show adding.

What do the kindergarten questions cover?
Eight topics: colors (13 questions), shapes and position words (12), animal sounds (14), counting to 20 (18), days, months and time of day (11), letters and words (11), the body and senses (10) and weather (11). Counting and position words follow the Common Core kindergarten math standards.
Why does every question have only two choices?
The questions are made to be heard, not read. You can say two choices in one breath, and a child can answer by holding up one finger or two. No wrong choice is a trick. By the editors' judgment 76 questions are easy, 21 are medium and 3 are a stretch, such as what 10 and 3 more make.
Who checked the answers?
The editors checked all 100 on September 19, 2026. Counting answers were recomputed and matched to the standard named under each one. Animal sounds come from the table in Wikipedia's list of animal sounds, and every other fact from the Wikipedia article linked under its answer. The first day of the week is left out, since countries disagree on it.
