Spring Icebreaker Questions for Meetings, Classes and March 17: how it works
Spring icebreaker questions work because everyone in the room has noticed the same things this week: light after work, mud by the door, the first open window. This deck holds 60 cards in six groups, 15 of them for St Patrick's Day and 16 multiple choice. Read one out, then press Next card.
Match the pill to the calendar
In the week of March 17, tap St Patrick's Day. Its 15 St Patrick's Day icebreaker questions stay on green clothes, shamrocks, parades, music and luck. When the clocks change or the first warm day arrives, tap Warm days and rain. Spring cleaning suits April, and Spring at work points the same idea at calendars and desks. In a big room, tap Multiple choice and count hands; the deck keeps no tally.
What the March 17 cards draw on
Celebrations generally involve parades, festivals, the wearing of green or shamrocks, and céilithe, social gatherings with Gaelic folk music and dancing. The cards use exactly those: "A shamrock has three leaves. What three things make a good day for you?" Another asks which building near you should glow green for a night, as landmarks worldwide have since 2010. Nothing repeats until you press Start over, and all 60 are printed below.
Tips
South of the equator, spring means September to November: deal the season groups then and the green cards in March.
With a class, deal "Are you wearing any green right now? Point to it." Everyone answers at once.
Nobody needs a yard for Gardens and growing: "One window box to fill: herbs, flowers or tomatoes?" works from an apartment.
Questions and answers
Why do the spring icebreaker questions have no Easter group?
Easter moves every year and not everyone keeps it, so the deck leaves it out along with every other movable spring festival. St Patrick's Day has a fixed date, and its cards stay on customs anyone can join: wearing green, watching a parade, tapping a foot to the music.
Do the St Patrick's Day cards mention drinking or leprechauns?
No. The 15 cards cover green clothes, shamrocks, parades, music, rainbows and luck, which suits a classroom or a morning meeting. None asks anyone to dress as a leprechaun, a costume criticized as a caricature of Irish people. One card borrows the pot of gold and asks what you would want at the end of a rainbow.
Which cards fit a spring team meeting?
Tap Spring at work. Its eight cards point the season at the office: what you would spring clean out of your calendar, which meeting you would move outdoors on the first warm day. Anyone may pass, and Skip swaps a card that does not fit.

How this list was compiled: Written by the Game Night Generator editors for this page on 2026-09-19; no list was copied. Every card was screened line by line against the site's clean-deck rules (nothing sexual, no alcohol or drugs, no self-harm, no bullying, nothing about bodies, money or relationships, nothing aimed at a protected group) and against the family's ten-second rule: anyone can answer without preparing and without sharing anything private. Each card was tested by swapping the season: a card that still worked in fall or summer was cut. The St Patrick's Day group of 15 is built only from customs named at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick%27s_Day (checked 2026-09-18): the day is held on 17 March; celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, céilithe, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks; the shamrock is a three-leaved plant; Ireland has been called the Emerald Isle since a poem of 1795; and landmarks have been lit green for the day since 2010 under Tourism Ireland's Global Greening initiative. No card mentions drinking, and none uses a leprechaun costume, which the same article describes as a derogatory caricature. The one-line note that a céilí is a social gathering that usually involves dancing and playing Gaelic folk music was checked at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%A9il%C3%AD on 2026-09-19. That spring is counted as March, April and May in the United States and United Kingdom and as September, October and November in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil was checked at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_(season) on 2026-09-19. Easter and other movable spring festivals are left out on purpose, so no card prints a date that changes from year to year. The 16 multiple-choice cards carry their options in x.options as well as in the card text and sit in the Multiple choice group as well as their topic group. The deck was compared on 2026-09-19 with every icebreaker, conversation-starter and would-you-rather deck in data/, including data/icebreaker-generator.json, data/spring-would-you-rather-questions.json and the sibling seasonal decks (exact and near-match check).
