Icebreaker Games With Steps, Group Sizes and Props

Openers a leader can read aloud and run in ten minutes.

An icebreaker game has one job: get people who barely know each other talking before the real meeting starts. Each page here is a list of games written for one kind of group, and it opens with three games already dealt. Every game has numbered steps a leader can read straight off a phone, then the players it suits, the minutes it takes, the props to bring and how loud it gets. Set your group size, tap a chip such as a first night or no props, and deal again until the opener fits your room. The first list is for youth groups of 8 to 60 teenagers: name games, mixers, circle games and seated games for a shy room. No game asks for contact beyond a high five, for food or for a forfeit, and every full list is printed under its picker.
