How this list was compiled: An original list of October 2026: rhyming clues for a unicorn party at home, written around a unicorn that wandered through the house and garden before the guests arrived. Sixteen clues lead to hiding places indoors and 14 to places in the garden; 24 more make a rainbow trail, four for each color from red to purple; eight final clues leave a blank for where the treasure waits. Nothing was copied from another clue list. No unicorn from a film, a show or a toy line is named, and the list states no facts. Every hiding place is one a child reaches from the ground: no stove, oven, garage, pool or road, and no clue asks anyone to climb. Licence: own work
How it works
A unicorn wandered through the house before the party and left a treasure behind. These unicorn scavenger hunt clues for kids follow where it went.

Three trails
The page opens Indoors: the unicorn ate from the fruit bowl, brushed its mane and napped on a pillow. Garden follows it past the flower bed and over the fence. Rainbow trail runs in color order, red to purple, and each clue hides at something of the next color, such as the bananas or a blue towel. Any rhyme can be reworded where it stands to fit your home.
From screen to strips
Press Print and cut between the rhymes; the hiding places come out on a last page for you. Write the treasure's place in the final clue. Hide in reverse: treasure first, first clue last.
Seal each strip with a star sticker, so hunters know which papers are the unicorn's.
On the rainbow trail, tie a ribbon of the right color at each stop. Children who cannot read yet follow the colors.
Questions and answers
What are some unicorn treasure hunt ideas?
Three that work at home: follow the unicorn's morning from breakfast to nap, run a rainbow trail in color order from red to purple, or send the hunters round the garden. End each at a treasure box with a horn drawn on the lid.
How do you make a printable unicorn treasure hunt?
Choose a trail, take away any rhyme whose hiding place you lack and press the button for another. When every stop is a place you have, print the page and cut the rhymes apart.
What do you put at the end of a unicorn hunt?
Whatever a unicorn would leave: party bags, a tin of rainbow candy or a wrapped present. The final clue has a blank for the place, so the treasure can sit anywhere a child can reach.
What age are unicorn clues like these for?
Ages 4 to 8. Every rhyme names its hiding place, so a child who cannot read yet solves it by listening. The rainbow trail is the easiest: the color alone says what to look for.
