Survey Game Maker: Write the Questions, Run the Board: how it works
This survey game maker turns your own questions and ranked answers into a board you run from one phone: tap a tile to reveal an answer, count strikes and give each round's points to a team. Ten original sample games are ready to play. It suits Family Feud-style games at a party, in a classroom or at a team lunch. The sample points are our estimates, not survey results.
Run a round from one phone
Pick a game under Game and tick Host view: show me the hidden answers, which prints each answer small on its tile, so keep the screen facing you. Read the question aloud. One player from each team answers first, and the team with the higher answer plays on. Tap a numbered tile to reveal each correct answer and add it to Round points. A wrong answer is a Strike. Press Give points beside the team that wins the round, then Next round.
The rules, with options
In the usual rules the playing team answers one player at a time, and three strikes end its turn. The other team may then confer and give a single answer. If it is on the board, they steal the round's points. Agree before you start what happens when the steal misses: the simplest house rule leaves the points with the first team. Other options: skip the face-off and alternate who starts, let young kids confer, or play to a target score. Take back undoes points given to the wrong team, and Clear strikes resets the count.
Make your own survey game, print it, share it
Press Make a game. Give it a title, write a question and list the answers, most popular first. Leave Points empty and the page shares 100 points out by rank, or type your own from 1 to 99. A game holds up to 8 rounds of 2 to 8 answers. Save and play keeps it in this browser, which holds 10 games. Share game copies a link that carries the whole game, and Print host sheet prints every answer with a score grid. Games, team names and scores stay on this phone.
Tips
Use a sample game as a survey game template: press Edit a copy, swap in questions about your own family or office and save it under a new title.
For real numbers, send your guests the questions before the party, count their answers and type the counts in as points.
Write answers the way people say them. Keys beats A set of house keys, and the host rules on whether car keys counts.
Put a round with six or more answers first and a four-answer round last. The last board is harder, and the score can still swing.
On a laptop plugged into a TV, tick Keys 1 to 8 reveal answers, X is a strike and read the answers from the printed host sheet.
Questions and answers
How many players do you need, and how long does a game take?
Four is the practical minimum, two against two, and teams of three to six work well. Larger groups can swap players in each round. Allow 20 to 30 minutes for a seven-round sample game. For a shorter game, stop after any round, since the scores on screen are always up to date.
Is this the official Family Feud game?
No. This is an independent tool for writing and running your own survey-style quiz. It is not the TV show or a licensed game, it uses none of their questions, and it is not affiliated with the producers. It follows the same widely known format: ranked answers hidden on a board, three strikes and a chance to steal.
Are the points in the sample games real survey results?
No. Nobody was surveyed. The points are our editors' estimates of how many people out of 100 would give each answer, written so the games play well, and every round adds up to 100. For real results, poll your own group and type the counts into Make a game.
Who decides whether an answer matches?
The host, and the ruling stands. A fair test is whether most people would say the two answers mean the same thing. Couch matches sofa and car keys matches keys, but wallet does not. Agree before round one whether plurals and nicknames count.
Can we play without showing the players a screen?
Yes. Press Print host sheet for every answer and a score grid, read the questions aloud and tick off answers as the teams find them. On a video call, share your screen with the host view off and read from the printed sheet. A friend who opens your Share game link can host the same game at another party.

The points are the editors' estimates, for play only, of how many people out of 100 would give each answer, and they add up to 100 in every round. Nothing is copied from a TV show's question bank, a boxed game or another website. Every question was screened as clean for a family room: nothing sexual, no alcohol or drugs, no real people.
