Pi trivia questions and answers, by round
Pi Day itself covers the museum march of 1988 and a birthday party in Princeton. Other pi dates and times has Tau Day, Super Pi Day and one second in 2015. The number pi asks about its digits, radians and a round room in Paris. Chasing the digits runs from a Babylonian tablet to a computer of 1949.

A tap on a choice shows the answer and its reason. After ten questions the card offers Print question sheet, a sheet of 20. Open More options there for Topic, to stay on one round, and for Print answer key.
Tips
- No question needs a calculator: the pack asks about pi, it does not ask anyone to compute with it.
- Pi Day itself is the gentlest round by our estimate; Chasing the digits has the most hard questions.
Questions and answers
Why is Pi Day on March 14?
Because 3, 1 and 4 are the first three digits of pi, and March 14 is written 3/14 in the month/day format. The earliest known large celebration was held in 1988 at a science museum in San Francisco.
What are some easy pi trivia questions?
Start with Pi Day itself: what contest schools hold on the day, what else is done with pies, and in which country most events take place. The answers are reciting digits, throwing them and the United States.
What is Tau Day?
June 28, also known as Two-Pi Day. The number tau is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius, about 6.28, so the date is written 6/28. Celebrants jokingly suggest eating twice the pie.
When does the first zero appear in pi?
At the 32nd decimal place. The first 31 decimal places of pi use only the digits 1 to 9. The question is in The number pi.
