How it works

This back to school bingo free printable is a student's card for the first week: school supplies, places around the school, and first-week moments to mark as they happen. The supplies and places come with a clue to call.

Read the full guide

Call the supplies and the places

To call only these, a teacher opens More options, selects the last 25 lines of the word list, from A new seat to the end, and deletes them. Then set How many cards to the class size and press the print button: no two cards match. Press Call the game, then Call the next one, and read the clue under each call. It carries the midday meal to school is Lunchbox. Five in a line win, and the center square is free.

A card for the whole first week

For a card nobody calls, a teacher opens More options and picks First-week moments in Ready-made list. Each student marks a square when it happens: a new seat, the first read-aloud, a fire drill practice.

Tips
  • The moments list has one square more than a card holds, so every card leaves one moment out.
  • The full list says what counts for each moment: A seat on the bus counts in a car line too.

Questions and answers

What is on the back to school bingo cards?

School supplies such as Pencil case and Box of crayons, places such as Library shelf and Lunch line, and first-week moments such as Line leader picked. The full list below shows every square with its clue.

Is this a get-to-know-you bingo?

No. Nothing on these cards is signed by a classmate. For find-someone-who squares, print get to know you bingo for kids. For the staff room, teacher bingo has a back-to-school list of its own.

Can younger classes play?

Yes, on a smaller card. Under More options, a teacher presses 3 × 3 or 4 × 4. The squares are short phrases, and the caller reads a clue for every supply and place.

Can a teacher add the school's own places?

Yes. Under More options, a teacher starts a new line in Word list, one per line and types a square, such as the name of the gym or the mascot. The cards change a moment later.

How this list was compiled: Own work by the editors, written on 2026-10-02 as a student's card for the first week of school; no outside page was read for it, and nothing was copied from another bingo card. Each of the three lists holds 25 squares, enough to fill a 5 x 5 card with a free center by itself. The first two lists, school supplies and places around the school, carry a one-line clue for the caller that describes the thing. The third list, first-week moments, is marked when a moment happens, and its line says what counts. No brand, product, school or person is named, and no square asks a child for a name or anything about home. The list was compared with the site's staff card (teacher bingo) and its find-a-classmate card so that it repeats no square of either. Licence: own work
