How it works

This grandparents day bingo printable is a card two generations mark together: things to do today, everyday things from then to ask about, and stories and sayings to tell. Nobody calls; a square is marked when it happens.

One card for each pair

Set How many cards to the number of pairs and press the print button; no two cards match. A grandparent and a grandchild share a card and mark a square once they have done it, talked about it or told it. Five in a line win, and the center square is free.

Pick the part that suits the visit

Under More options, Ready-made list deals one list at a time. Things to do together suits an afternoon at home. Then and now names things to ask about: was there a rotary phone in the house, a jukebox in town? Stories and sayings suits a phone call.

Tips
  • A Then and now square counts once the grandparent has said yes or no and told one thing about it.
  • Keep the finished card: the unmarked squares are what to ask about next time.

Questions and answers

When is Grandparents Day?

In the United States, National Grandparents Day is the first Sunday after Labor Day, so it falls in September. Other countries keep the day on other dates.

What is on the grandparents day bingo cards?

Three lists of 25 squares: things to do such as Play checkers and Label old photos, things to ask about such as Rotary phone and Drive-in movie, and stories such as First job and A favorite teacher.

Can we play over a video call?

Yes. Open the page at both ends and pick Stories and sayings under More options: every square in it is something to tell, so nothing has to happen in the same room. Tap a square to mark it.

Does it work with a great-aunt or a neighbor?

Yes. No square says grandma or grandpa, and none assumes what anyone remembers. The stories list asks; the answers are theirs.

How this list was compiled: Written for this site by the editors on 2026-10-02 as a card a grandparent and a grandchild fill together, in three parts; these are our suggestions, and nothing was copied from another bingo card. Each list holds 25 squares, enough to fill a 5 x 5 card with a free center by itself. No square says what a grandparent is like, looks like or can do: the first list is things two people do together, the second names everyday things to ask about (the card does not say when or where any of them was in use; the grandparent does), and the third is stories and sayings to tell. The date on the page (in the United States, National Grandparents Day is the first Sunday after Labor Day) was checked on 2026-10-02 against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandparents%27_Day . No brand, show or person is named. The ways to win named on the page (a row, a column or a diagonal; the center square of a 5 x 5 card is free) were checked against https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bingo_(American_version) on 2026-10-02.
